ASCERTAIN THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN UNDERGRADUATE NURSING STUDENTS' AGE, GENDER AND THEIR LEVEL OF ASSERTIVE BEHAVIOUR

Purpose: The aim of the study is to ascertain relationship between undergraduate nursing students' age and their level assertive behaviour. Assertiveness communicating expressing your thoughts, feelings, opinions in a way that makes views needs clearly understood by others, without putting down or opinions. ability express our thoughts feelings openly an Honest, Appropriate, Respectful Direct way.
 Methodology: participants were students 2nd - 5th levels at Department Nursing, University Port Harcourt with total 205 participants. was cross sectional descriptive survey design adapted structured questionnaire using Rathus schedule instrument four point Likert scale strongly Agree, Disagree Strongly Disagree. All statistical analysis performed package for social Science (SPSS).
 Findings: findings revealed increased assertiveness 5lh 4th being more than lower study. Age gender did not have any influence on Chi-square Test independence inferential statistics used test hypotheses whether significant relationships existed student nurses’ age, year 0-05.
 Unique contribution theory, practice policy: recommended all Nurses should be exposed training so they can mentor/coach it also behaviour included curriculum programme.
